NJ Coastal Defensive Driving School, LLC offers a New Jersey

certified defensive driving training program for New

Jersey automobile drivers.

Eligibility For NJ Defensive Driving Course

 

If you are eligible for the course, then you may receive 2 NJ Division

of Motor Vehicle points off of your point accumulation listed on your

NJ Division of Motor Vehicle driving history.

 

Contact your Insurance carrier regarding insurance points and

reduction of insurance rates.

 

Requirements

- Be at least 17 years of age

- New Jersey Licensed Driver

- Be able to read, speak, and understand the English language

(Class taught only in English)

- This course for 2 NJ DMV point credit can only be used once every

5 years. (If you take the course earlier than 5 years, then you will not

receive the 2 point credit. However, you may receive a reduction in your insurance rates. Call your insurance carrier for details.)

- Take our certified defensive driving class that is 6 hours long in total.

- There is no test.

-CDL drivers are also eligible for the defensive driving course. Reduce points and make yourself more employable with the completion of a NJ certified defensive driving course. In this tight economy, employers require employees to have low NJ DMV point and insurance point totals in order for lower insurance premiums to be paid by the employer.

 

-REMEMBER, CDL drivers be certain your

driving log books of service are up-to-date and accurate.

 

-NJ Troopers patrol truck stops and may request to view your log book of service.

 

-There are three limits and one break requirement which must be followed at all times. They are:

 

  • The 14 hour on duty limit.

  • The 11 hour driving limit.

  • The 30 minute break.

  • The 60/70 hour on duty limit.

 

-NJ Troopers enforce these rules vigorously in order to protect the general public from overtired drivers.
