Has the following ever happened to you or your loved ones? You are stopped by a police officer for a  speeding ticket; you pay the ticket; and you learn from your insurance carrier by letter that your insurance rates have increased or worse yet; your carrier is dropping you due to an elevated amount of New Jersey Division Motor Vehicle points. Well, in most cases driving infractions in New Jersey do carry insurance points affixed by your insurance carrier as well as NJ DMV points. These two systems are different. Call your insurance carrier concerning any insurance point system it may employ. As for the New Jersey point system please refer to the chart below.
